Pastor GeorgeGeorge Snyder has served as our Senior Pastor since November, 2010.

In 1989 Pastor George moved his family from Cumberland to Hagerstown because of a job promotion with Ponderosa Steak House. Greenbrier was just a little brown church he passed on trips to Skycroft for conferences. Out of curiosity, they visited one Sunday to find the congregation was praying for Sunday school teachers to work with small children, and for deacons. Since, his wife Rebecca was preschool ASSIST director and George was an ordained deacon they joined the next week.

For seven years and they were active at Greenbrier until George felt called into the ministry, shortly after Pastor David Coblentz was called to lead the congregation. He was ordained on October 12, 1997 by Greenbrier, and received his first church by complete surprise at the Bible Church in Knoxville Maryland. Then in 2002 he started New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church at Potomac Heights Elementary School in Hagerstown. For two years he shepherded both churches at the same time. From 2004 until 2009 Pastor “G” led the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church, which merged with 1st Baptist Church of Sharpsburg (an ABA church) and formed United Christian Fellowship Church. In 2010, upon Pastor David’s retirement, he accepted the call to Greenbrier and turned over U.C.F to my Associate Pastor whom we ordained the prior year. Now he is back home, where he belongs.
